How convenient that people forgot the Confederacy raised its own massive army, started its own separate nation, and waged bloody savage war against our noble U.S.A.
How convenient people forget that 400,000+ U.S. soldiers DIED protecting our great U.S.A. from the downtrodden slave loving Confederate Nation (Confederate States of America).
A long look at history will show General Lee himself (after he surrendered and reclaimed his status as an United States citizen) personally wrote he was religiously opposed to the raising of any monuments or buildings in his name or the Confederacy's name. These monuments were raised against the will of one of the Confederacy's greatest General's. They were also raised as an attempt to intimidate civil/human rights activists who successfully fought against inhumane racism by ending segregation and raising profound equal opportunity laws, so that all people can properly be treated as what they are - human beings.
